Shimansky reveals Table Mountain-inspired jewellery

Luxury jeweller Shimansky has launched a ring that pays homage to South African natural wonder, Table Mountain.

The Table Mountain Ring, unveiled at Shimansky's Rockwell showroom this weekend, is visibly inspired by the iconic silhouette of Cape Town's famous mountain. One version of the ring houses 27 diamonds, which intricately trace the outline of Table Mountain.

Speaking at the launch, Shimansky CEO and Founder, Yair Shimansky, said that "the Table Mountain Ring is more than a ring, it is a soulful connection with the majestic natural phenomenon, Table Mountain, that gives Cape Town and South Africa its special presence on the globe."

For the next three months, the ring is available in silver from R980 and all colours of gold from white, yellow or rose in three different styles: plain, with a single diamond or with 27 diamonds.

The Table Mountain Ring collection is available from 1 December at the Shimansky showrooms and stores, and at the gift shop on top of Table Mountain. The making of the Table Mountain Ring can also be witnessed at the Shimansky Clock Tower workshop where the master jewellers and the diamond polishers perform their craft.

Shimansky’s commitment to enhancing the visitor experience in South Africa led to the launch of its exclusive Diamond Experience at the Clock Tower (Waterfront) and the Rockwell Diamond Experience in Green Point.

These tourism attractions offer unique insight into the 3.3-billion-year journey of a Shimansky diamond, and highlight the craftmanship inherent in every unique piece of jewellery produced by Shimansky’s master craftsmen.

“With tourism earmarked as a key economic enabler of the Western Cape, we will continue to play a pivotal role in contributing to Cape Town’s economy and to upholding our commitment to sustainable tourism,” said Shimansky.

Representing SA abroad

Shimansky has just arrived in Cape Town from New York where, this month, he was part of an exhibition titled The Protagonist curated by Vogue Italia – celebrating the world's best designers who are mindful and practice sustainability in jewellery. The Salon Art + Design New York has established an international reputation for excellence in design and unprecedented quality.

Shimansky continues to share and showcase South Africa to the globe through its expansion to the United States, with the launch of an opulent showroom on New York’s iconic 5th Avenue last year.
