Construction at Pavilion nears completion
Entertainment shops
Part of the first phase of the revamp saw the launch of the revamped Nu Metro cinemas and the balance of this project will see large chain takeaway outlets and entertainment establishments, such as The Fun Company and Galaxy Bingo, opening their doors.
Pareto owns the Pavilion Shopping Centre and the redevelopment project is managed by Motseng Project Management. Dewald van Staden, MD of Motseng Project Management, says this build is proving to reinvent the scope of shopping centre development and has delivered a value-based experience. "We are using successful retail construction trends and infusing them with new ideas to deliver the best product to our customers.
"Value is the most important aspect in today's retail market and in the minds of customers. We have a common goal with our retailers, shoppers and construction team - to make the build a smooth process. By integrating high-end retailers, with a variety of entertainment and food, we are redefining our customers' shopping experience."
"The centre exceeded the 2012 target significantly last year. By 24 December 2013, the foot count had increased by 14% and there was a 5% turnover increase. This is despite construction work having taken place at the centre for three quarters of the year. Regular communication with shoppers around the Mall and strict adherence to health and safety standards during the build has ensured a safe environment for all shoppers and a sense of privacy for all workers," said Nisha Kemraj, GM of Pavilion.
