"The centre pays attention to design, retail mix and the daily shopping needs of an expanding community," says Kim Gibson, group chief financial officer for Garden Cities, owners and developers of the centre. "It is set to become the dominant retail space in the area and surrounding suburbs, in a strong community with abundant amenities."
Other tenants include Crazy Store, Sorbet and Clicks with a cross section of owner operated stores such as Café Del Monte, Blush and Pizza Boys. An array of service offerings on-site includes a Postlink, Nedbank ATM, Standard Bank ATM and ABSA ATM. It has plenty of parking spaces for the shoppers it will attract.
Bentel Architects, the designers of the centre, has chosen to incorporate the beautiful surroundings of the area into the innovative design. Although an open, airy atmosphere with natural light and ventilation has been created, in keeping with the semi-rural environment, a sheltering roof structure mitigates the effects of the Cape's variable weather and a central court provides for open restaurants and a play area. Specific focus has been placed on the comfort of shoppers, especially the disabled and parents with children.
