New travel discount card launched
A new discount card for accomodation and car hire, offering travellers discounts of around 20 percent on accommodation, has just been launched. Exquisite Card is targeted primarily at travellers who research their travel needs online, then book direct with the supplier.
Exquisite Card offers discounts to this new kind of traveller through a discount card and voucher, which entitles the holder to +-20 percent discount on hundreds of accommodation establishments across 11 African countries. The card or voucher is purchased through a secure e-commerce portal at www.exquisitecard.co.za, at a cost of R390 for a one-year card, R590 for two years, or R19 for a daily voucher. This is claimed to be insignificant compared to the savings made on just one night's accommodation and other tourism services like car hire and spas.
How does it work? The card holder searches the Exquisite Card website for partnering establishments and services, then books direct, stating the card or voucher number. The hotel then charges the client an average of 20 percent less than the published rate, payable in full prior to arrival.
Nearly 200 properties on board
Nearly 200 top properties have already become Exquisite Card partners, because it costs them nothing except 20 percent discount on published rack rates. Hotels want more business, travellers want to pay less and Exquisite Card discounts bring the two parties together and make everybody happy.
Exquisite Card has been launched by industry stalwarts Cliff Jacobs (35 years as an hotelier) and Mark Goveia (of Hospitality Grading). Goveia stressed that: “All establishments and partners of Exquisite Card are expected to meet rigorous standards, because our clients expect a high level of product and service.” Exquisite Card welcomes enquiries from potential partners in tourism services and five accommodation categories: hotel, boutique hotel, guest house, lodge and self-catering.
