The third annual gala event and awards ceremony, set to take place at The Westin Cape Town Hotel on Thursday, 30 August, aims to recognise and celebrate outstanding local organisations and individuals in the e-commerce and technology industries.
The category winners will be selected by this year’s panel of expert judges, comprising: Michele Lozzo, managing director Middle East & Africa for Criteo; Geoff Cohen, co-founder of &Innovation; Boitumelo Menyatswe, ecosystem manager for Silicon Cape; Elsamari Botha, Professor Digital Enterprise Management and Digital Futures at the University of Stellenbosch; Matthew Buckland, founder of Creative Spark; Lynette Hundermark, co-founder and chief product officer at Useful & Beautiful; Bryan Nelson, sector lead: finance, retail, travel at Google Africa; Tom Jackson, partner at Disrupt Africa and Lindsey Schutters, editor of Popular Mechanics SA.
“Each of these selected judges offers an independent point of view as well as a unique perspective of the e-commerce industry,” says Kevin Tucker, founder and CEO of PriceCheck, emphasising that “one of the goals is to highlight the advances that individuals are making in what remains a challenging sector in South Africa.”
