"The hosting of the Mr Price Pro Ballito Sporting & Lifestyle Event is a highlight for this region. This year we have prepared yet another action-packed programme that is set to attract both our international and domestic visitors. We look forward to welcoming all to KwaDukuza and to showcase the very best of what we have to make your visit a pleasurable one," said KwaDukuza municipality events co-ordinator Collette Bundy.

As well as boasting retail opportunities, the festival seeks to provide constant and varied entertainment, the highlight of which are the Free Music Concerts taking place at Salt Rock on 4, 5 and 6 July. The stage will host almost 20 bands over three days, including Gangs of Ballet, aKing, and iSceam and the Chocolate Stix. The headlining acts for Thursday, Friday and Saturday will be Big Nuz, Prime Circle, and Pascal & Pearce, respectively. In addition, leading DJs DJ Milkshake and DJ Dino Bravo, will be closing acts at the concert.

Beach Mania

The concerts are just one aspect of the Beach Festival's array of entertainments, however. Guests will also have the opportunity to make the most of the festival's Beach Mania programme, which aims to get children and adults alike involved in beach sports, making the most of the event's location. The KwaDukuza LED Sports Unit and the RedCap Foundation will also be hosting football leagues and fun days throughout the duration of the festival, with the goal of entertaining and integrating young people from all social groups. For those who prefer spectating to participating, the extreme sports demonstrations return to the festival, with BMX, breakdance, wakeskate and Parkour showcases. The event will also provide a stage for various educational campaigns, including initiatives concerning the effect of climate change on local coastlines.

This year will feature the addition of a three-day Food and Wine Festival running from 2 to 4 July.

The event supports the RedCap Foundation, which is a non-profit organisation that carries out the corporate social investment projects for the Mr Price Group. Keeping in line with the foundation's mission to inspire tomorrow's heroes and tackling national challenges in education, health and unemployment the RedCap Foundation has partnered the KwaDukuza Municipality to make a positive difference in the lives of young South Africans in the KwaDukuza region.
