2019 Beyond Painting Classrooms Conference open for registration

The fourth bi-annual Beyond Painting Classrooms (BPC) Conference will take place 11-12 September at the Wanderers Club in Illovo, Johannesburg. Themed "Inspiring Employee Volunteering", the BPC Conference is a platform which actively creates an employee volunteering ecosystem to embed and upscale active citizenship for social good.

Hosted by the FirstRand Volunteers Programme, with the support of CAF Southern Africa, the conference will bring together leaders on active citizenship and employee volunteering from corporate entities, the non-profit sector and other sections of society.

Addressing the BPC Conference launch breakfast recently, Desiree Storey, manager of the FirstRand Volunteers Programme, said: “The conference programme content has been informed by current global and local trends in employee volunteering and the voices of the BPC community. The key themes are the future of employee volunteering, making employee volunteering count, and collaborating for change. The programme will offer a mix of plenary sessions, panel discussions and debates, breakaways and Q&A opportunities.”

Winners of the second BPC Volunteer Programme Awards will be announced at the conference. Entries are currently open, and all corporate entities (small, medium and large) and non-profit organisations that run employee volunteer programmes and initiatives are invited to submit entries. This year the judges would like to know how corporate groupings and non-profits are embedding a culture of active citizenship and employee volunteering into the DNA and culture of day-to-day business.
