Painting specially commissioned for World Chefs Tour Against Hunger

Renowned culinary artist Frans Groenewald has created a lasting memento for the Bidvest World Chefs Tour Against Hunger, which will see 250 chefs from 44 countries visiting South Africa in just over a week to raise funds and awareness for hungry children.

The purchase of one of these lively depictions of the life of a chef, entitled 'South African Culinary Delights' will directly benefit hungry children.

A limited edition of 500 signed and numbered prints can be purchased at a cost of R499 (including VAT) unframed or R999 framed. Unsigned paintings will be available at demonstration kitchens in Johannesburg at Montecasino and Hyde Park Corner, in Nelspruit at Riverside Mall, in East London at Hemingways Mall, in Cape Town at CTICC and in Durban at Suncoast Casino from 25-27 August.

The original item, sponsored by Frame Genie, will be auctioned at the official gala dinner of the Bidvest World Chefs Tour Against Hunger, taking place at the Sandton Convention Centre on 30 August 2011. Canvas replicas will be auctioned at various other dinners in Pretoria, Mbombela, Vereeniging, East London, Cape Town and Durban.

The tour aims to raise over R5 million to feed needy children for a five-year period, with the main beneficiaries being African Children's Feeding Scheme, the Akani Diepsloot Foundation and Meals on Wheels, as well as various regional charities.
