Fair Cape launches SA's first 1% milk

Fair Cape Dairies, manufacturers of Fair Cape Free Range milk and dairy products, claims to be the first to launch 1% milk in South Africa - their Fair Cape Free Range 1% Milk. Traditionally, consumers have had to choose between 2% low fat milk and fat-free milk; however, Fair Cape now gives them the opportunity to choose 1% low-fat milk, milk with half the fat of regular low-fat milk, but with what the company says is a richer, creamier taste than fat-free milk.

The new product is formulated to offer just the right balance of low fat content and great taste and the company says that 2% milk consumers, who prefer a low-fat product but don't enjoy the taste of skim milk, will be pleasantly surprised with the taste of Fair Cape Free Range 1% Milk. The new product will be available in store from September 2010 in 1litre and 2 litre bottles.

"The latest launch builds on the strength of our existing brand identity and differentiates us as a world-class dairy concern at the forefront of consumer innovation in SA," says Joel Serman, Fair Cape's commercial manager. "The 1% range will have a distinct identity that still sits comfortably between the 2% and the fat-free categories.

The company's milk bottles are made from easily recyclable PET and the new 1% milk is available nationwide at approximately R7.99 per 1 litre bottle and R13.99 per 2 litre bottle.

Fair Cape products are available at Shoprite, Checkers, Spar, OK, Fruit & Veg City, Pick 'n Pay Hyper Ottery and Brackenfell and selected Pick n Pay stores in Gauteng.
