From Turmbach in the Italian Alps, the family-owned Walcher distillery has been perfecting the art of distilling eaux de vie for nine generations. Now, with a global thirst for gin, the distillers have turned their hand to crafting premium organic gin. The organic journey begins with the creation of a neutral alcohol distilled from certified-organic wheat. This base alcohol is then re-distilled with carefully selected botanicals, with the aromatics of the Biostilla gin drawing inspiration from the surrounding hillsides.
The result is a premium, certified organic gin crafted in the style of a London Dry, with Mediterranean botanicals. On the nose, expect juniper, with a palate of sweet juniper, citrus and floral notes giving way to a hint of bitterness in a lingering finish.
Biostilla Organic Gin is available at leading retailers nationwide, at a recommended retail price of R350.
