William Grant & Sons named Distiller of the Year, takes home 60 medals

Earlier this month, the International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWSC) awarded William Grant & Sons the title of Distiller of the Year, the highest honour to be bestowed by the organisation. In addition, the distillery won the title of Scotch Producer of the Year.

In the individual expression honours, The Balvenie DoubleWood 12 YO won the Single Malt Scotch 15 Years Old and Under Trophy. The judges also recognised Glenfiddich 21YO, Glenfiddich 14 YO Bourbon Barrel Reserve, The Balvenie Thirty and Glenfiddich 40 YO with each receiving a ‘gold outstanding’ medal. The company won 20 gold medals for Glenfiddich, The Balvenie and Grant’s, winning 60 medals overall.

Edward Snell & Co. marketing manager, Richard Brodrick, said, “William Grant & Sons has been awarded this title six times, proving that year after year it produces world class quality spirits. This is an incredible achievement and is testament to the skill, expertise and dedication of the distillery. It has impeccably maintained the quality of its brands for well over a century. We are honoured to have these variants in our country.”
