The grapes originated from the premium vineyards on the slopes of the Simonsberg Mountain located on the outskirts of Stellenbosch. The wine displays a deep garnet colour with a vibrant ruby red rim. The aromas are packed with dark berries, cocoa powder with hints of dried herbs and eucalyptus. The palate is full and rich reminiscent of the aromas on the nose. It will go well with veal Osso Buco, grilled red meat or oxtail stew.
Only 7,500 bottles of the current vintage have been released, with sales focused on cellar door sales, specialist wine shops, duty-free outlets and the restaurant trade.
