Global theft insurance offered
T3 Insure has partnered with MSIG, one of the largest insurers in the world, to offer PC and notebook insurance linked to the purchase of a T3 USB device.
The T3 Security Key protects one’s computer from unauthorised access and acts as an ignition key to start up the computer. Comprising a USB key and a software application to detect the USB key, the T3 Security Key prevents access to any data on ones computer.
J2 Software also warns that data theft is on the increase worldwide and consumers must take precautionary measures to protect their valuable data.
According to J2 Software MD John Mc Loughlin, data contained on computers is worth far more money than the machine itself. “Computers typically contain personal and business information, information about oneself, one’s friends and family. More importantly, it contains corporate trade secrets and customer information.”
The T3 Insure concept is based around the insurance coverage offered by other T3 products, without the data security elements.
T3 Insure is offering 12 month global theft insurance, up to a maximum value equal to US$ 1500 (about R10 000), for R499 per annum. The terms and conditions, as well as the claims process, are reported to be straightforward and easy to understand.
