Team lead: IT (Python, Database Systems)

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Team Lead: IT to oversee the day-to-day management of IT infrastructure, systems, networks, and support services. The successful candidate will provide technical leadership to the IT team while remaining hands-on in the administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the organization's technology environment.

This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, team leadership, problem-solving, and operational management to ensure the stability, security, and performance of IT services.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and mentor the IT team, ensuring effective service delivery and technical support.
• Manage and maintain IT infrastructure, including Linux servers, virtualization platforms, networks, and security systems.
• Administer and support networking, firewalls, routing, VoIP, and file-sharing services.
• Oversee PostgreSQL databases, document management systems, SharePoint, and collaboration platforms.
• Monitor system performance, availability, backups, patching, and disaster recovery processes.
• Develop and maintain automation solutions using Bash, PowerShell, and Python.
• Manage IT incidents, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure timely resolution of service requests.
• Support infrastructure projects, system upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain technical documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable technology solutions aligned with business needs.

Qualifications and experience:

• Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications in Linux, Networking, Virtualization, or Cloud technologies will be advantageous.
• Minimum 5 years' experience in IT Infrastructure, Systems Administration, or IT Operations.
• Previous experience leading or supervising an IT support or infrastructure team.
• Experience managing enterprise IT environments and supporting business-critical systems.
• Experience in Linux, IPv4 Networks, Routing, Firewalls, VoIP, File Sharing Protocols, PostgreSQL, Database Systems, Hyper-V, Proxmox VE, SharePoint, Document Management Systems (DMS), Wiki Platforms, Jira, Git, Bash, PowerShell, Python
