Unlike models built primarily around self-paced content, learners attendc according to a structured timetable. Lessons are recorded for revision, attendance is monitored and every learner is supported by a dedicated Learning Assistant who helps track their progress and routine.

“Parents considering online education often want reassurance that their child will still be taught, supported and known by the people responsible for their education,” said Melissa Lai, head of Regenesys’ Academic Centre of Excellence. “This is a school environment delivered online. Learners attend live lessons, interact with their teachers and classmates and follow a structured academic programme.”

The school offers the Cambridge International pathway from Year 8 through to Year 13, including Lower Secondary, IGCSE, AS Level and A Level. Learners can progress towards Cambridge International qualifications recognised by universities in South Africa and internationally.

Regenesys Online School is registered as a Cambridge International School, with school number ZA358.

The school currently offers an average of 20 hours of live teaching each week, depending on the learner’s stage, with lessons taught by specialist teachers. Parents also have access to a dashboard providing visibility into their child’s progress, including weekly summaries and semester reports.

But the school’s model extends beyond academics.

Social and cultural clubs

Learners can participate in activities including debate, coding and robotics, entrepreneurship, creative writing and regular opportunities to connect socially with other learners. Academic support also includes tutor sessions, university guidance and additional learning support where required.

“School is about more than completing a curriculum,” added Lai. “Children need structure, relationships, confidence and opportunities to develop outside the classroom. We wanted to create an online school experience that recognises all of those needs.”

Regenesys Online School forms part of the Regenesys Education Group, which has 28 years of experience in education.

Cambridge enrolments for October 2026 and January 2027 are currently open. Regenesys Online School is also preparing to introduce the South African National Senior Certificate pathway for Grades 8 to 11 for its 2027 intake.
