Electron Exchange near OR Tambo becomes the Gauteng base for Inospace Fulfilment, giving SMEs outsourced warehousing, pick-and-pack and last-mile services alongside their business space.
Inospace, South Africa’s largest privately owned multi-let industrial property company, has opened Inospace Fulfilment in Johannesburg. The new operation is based at Electron Exchange, minutes from OR Tambo International Airport, and follows the successful rollout of the service in Cape Town.
Inospace Fulfilment offers small and medium-sized businesses a fully outsourced logistics solution: goods receiving, storage, inventory management, order picking and packing, returns handling and courier integration. Clients pay only for the space and services they use, with no long-term commitments and no need to hire warehouse staff or invest in their own systems.
The service is aimed at e-commerce brands, wholesalers, importers and product businesses that have outgrown the garage or the back office but are not ready to lease and staff a warehouse of their own. It is also available to the more than 2,100 SME tenants already operating across Inospace’s 50-plus parks in Cape Town and Johannesburg.
Rael Levitt, founder and CEO of Inospace, said the launch was a direct response to what tenants had been asking for.
“For years our clients have told us the same thing. They can find space, but they cannot find a fulfilment partner that takes a business doing a few hundred orders a month seriously. The big 3PLs want volume. We built Inospace Fulfilment for the businesses the big players ignore. Johannesburg is the largest consumer and distribution market in the country, and sitting next to OR Tambo puts us where the freight already moves,” Levitt said.
“Our strategy has always been to offer more than four walls and a roof. Space is the starting point. Warehousing, fulfilment and logistics are the services that turn a tenant into a long-term client. This is the next stage of that model, and Gauteng is where it will scale.”
Devan Cairns, who heads up Inospace Fulfilment, said the Johannesburg facility had been designed for speed and flexibility.
“Most SMEs are drowning in the admin of getting product to customers. They are packing boxes at night and chasing couriers in the morning instead of selling. We take that off their plate. A client can send us stock this week and be shipping orders through us next week, with live visibility of their inventory and their orders,” Cairns said.
“Electron Exchange gives us a modern, secure facility close to the airport, the major courier hubs and the N12 and R21 corridors. That location means faster cut-off times and lower delivery costs for our clients, which is ultimately what they are paying for.”
Inospace Fulfilment integrates with the leading South African e-commerce platforms and courier networks, allowing orders to flow automatically from a client’s online store to the warehouse floor and on to the customer. Clients receive real-time reporting on stock levels, order status and returns.
