Boeing announces organisation changes, new leadership structure

Boeing has announced major organisation and leadership changes with the aim of driving company integration and continuous improvement, streamlining top leadership positions and responsibilities and preparing for the post-coronavirus industry environment. Here is the summary of the changes below:

  • Greg Smith will lead the newly-formed enterprise operations, finance and strategy organisation. Part of the organisation's responsibilities will be to restore the Boeing production and supply chain health as the company and the aerospace industry recover from the global coronavirus pandemic.
  • The corporate audit team will join Smith's new group and continue to report directly to the Boeing board of directors' audit committee.
  • Senior vice president of manufacturing, supply chain and operations Jenette Ramos will take on special assignment in support of Smith and Boeing president and CEO David Calhoun.
  • Legal and core compliance programs will be combined into one organisation led by the chief legal officer and executive vice president of global compliance, Brett Gerry.
  • A chief compliance officer will be appointed to lead Boeing's compliance, ethics and trade control activities.
  • Tim Keating will lead Boeing government operations that will oversee the company's global spectrum management activities.
  • "I am confident these changes will drive greater alignment among our functions; better equip our commercial, defense and space, and services businesses to deliver on customer commitments in a changing marketplace; and support our continuous efforts to develop talent through challenging leadership assignments," said Calhoun.

The changes will come into effect on 1 May.
