In case of an emergency, scroll Airbnb

Following the severe weather conditions that resulted in floods and runaway fires in the Western Cape, Airbnb has introduced a function that will help accommodate and house people who have affected by natural disasters in the province. The response tool provides urgent housing to those affected by the disaster in or nearby the affected area for no additional charge until the end of June.

In addition, the app also partners with local government agencies and relief organisations to provide safety tips to its community of users; it provides users with up-to-date information from the local government authorities leading the response to a disaster. Airbnb also assists relief organisations with accommodation through travel voucher contributions after the organisation has indicated that a team is in need of immediate accommodation.
