Neil Ellis Wines takes gold (twice) at the IWC
Neil Ellis Wines recently received two international awards. The Neil Ellis Whitehall Chardonnay 2015, maiden vintage from a single vineyard in Elgin, and the Neil Ellis Jonkershoek Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, a new vintage from Jonkershoek, received a gold medal each at the 2017 International Wine Challenge.
Led by winemaker Warren Ellis, Neil Ellis' wines are produced from grapes sourced from four areas, namely Jonkershoek, Elgin, Groenekloof, and Piekenierskloof. Earlier this year, the Neil Elis Whitehall Chardonnay was included in the top seven wines, five of which came from Elgin, in the Decanter South African Chardonnay Panel Tasting.
