In-house bakery upskills Shoprite, Checkers staff
On Wednesday, 17 May 2017, 500 staff members from the Shoprite Group, who have been upskilled at the group's in-house bakery training centre, will be putting their baking skills to the test on World Baking Day.
The group is committed to ongoing skills development, offering an internal bakery training programme from its head office in Cape Town, which includes a six-week course including both theory and practical, by which staff are taught how different elements, from gluten to temperature control can impact the end product.
