Pick n Pay donates meals to schoolchildren
Pick n Pay has given food hampers to vulnerable schoolchildren during the lockdown as part of its Feed the Nation campaign. A total of 15,316 hampers have been donated that equates to 1.7 million meals. The hampers included fresh vegetables, rice, maize meal, baked beans, oil, pilchards, sugar beans and milk powder. One-hundred-and-two schools across eight provinces have been assisted to date. The schoolchildren are identified through the retailer's Pick n Pay School Club....

Women of Excellence event held despite Covid-19 concerns
The Women of Excellence business leadership event took place at the Alfajiri Hub at Johannesburg's Maboneng precinct on 18 March, despite coronavirus (Covid-19) concerns. The speaker panel at the event included Alesimo Mwanga from Youth Entrepreneurship Exchange Program (YEEP) Africa, OYA co-founder, Rehema Isa, and the United Nations Women South Africa program associate, Thobela Gceya.

The second annual Beauty Revolution Festival took place at the Sandton Convention Centre from Friday, 13 March to Saturday, 14 March. SheSays held its first event of the year last week
Global network for women in advertising and creative industries, SheSays, held its first Cape Town event of 2020 on 10 March.
SheSays Cape Town co-director Anelde Greeff moderated the panel, which included head of marketing and communications at Zeitz Mocaa Annicia Manyaapelo, CEO of RushTush Rushda Moosajee and media consultant and author Vanessa Raphaely.

Members of the Entrepreneurs' Organisation (EO) and their friends and families took part in a special spekboom tree planting ceremony at the site of the Great Labyrinth near Klapmuts on 7 March. Chappies launches Cola flavour with Josias Mpyana
Chappies has a new limited-edition flavour called Chappies Cola. A launch event was held to celebrate the new flavour. Chappies SA commissioned Josias Mpyana, also known as The Chappies Artist, to create an art piece that expresses the joy he gets from blowing bubbles of Chappies Cola. The new flavour is available at select wholesalers, taxi ranks and spaza shops nationwide.

2020 Forbes Woman Africa Leading Women Summit

Winning #REDexperiment designs highlight SA culture
South African designers shined at the #REDExperiment 2.0 awards ceremony hosted by the Radisson RED Hotel V&A Waterfront, Cape Town last week. The design competition started accepting entries from early February and entrants were given a chance to design the hotel's new staff uniform - a T-shirt, a cap and a long-sleeve jacket. The winning designers for each of the three categories were awarded R10,000 and their designs will go into production this month....
