    4A's O'Toole Awards accepting entries

    LOS ANGELES, US: Who's the best in advertising? Entries are open for The 4A's O'Toole Awards for Creative Excellence, claimed to be both figuratively and literally the biggest award (weighing in at almost 19kg and standing 500mm tall) in the industry and now looking to recognise an agency's overall body of work.

    In order to win, each agency must submit campaigns they do for many brands (not just one). The winners will be announced at the 4A's Transformation 2012 conference in Los Angeles on Tuesday, 27 March 2012.

    The awards are open to agencies around the world, and judging is conducted on a peer-to-peer basis, featuring agencies judging agencies, reviewing categories of non-competing groups.

    Entry categories:

    • The O'TooleBox Award;
    • Agency Awards: Large, Mid-Sized and Small Agency.

    The early bird entry date is Friday, 16 December 2011 and the final entry date is Friday, 13 January 2012.

    Established in 1991, the 4A's O'Toole Awards for Creative Excellence competition is considered by many to be one of the most competitive and highly regarded award programmes in advertising. Its purpose is to recognise agencies that consistently set and maintain the very highest standards. Proceeds from the awards are donated to the 4A's Foundation, established to provide multicultural students with scholarships to study advertising arts.

    4A's

    The 4A's (American Association of Advertising Agencies) is the national trade association of the advertising agency business and provides leadership, advocacy and guidance to the US industry. The management-oriented association, founded in 1917, helps its members build their businesses, and acts as the industry's spokesperson with government, media, and the public sector. Its membership comprises virtually all of the large, multinational agencies and hundreds of small and mid-sized agencies across the US.

    More than 1200 member agency offices served by the 4A's employ 65 000 people, offer a wide range of marketing communications services, and place 80% of all national advertising. For more information, go to the 4A's website.
