The gym, which opened mid-February, occupies one of the building’s two wings. The other wing comprises three fully-let office levels, including the 1,700m2 head office of VDT Attorneys, a 1,000m2 regional office for Mazars, and the 500m2 headquarters of Central Developments. The new gym and offices extend the existing Castle Gate Retail Centre, the first phase of the Castle Gate precinct development.
The Castle Gate mixed-use precinct development is expected to represent a total investment of R6bn and create approximately 750 permanent jobs. The development is being rolled out in response to market demand and will ultimately have 50,000m2 of retail space, 50,000m2 of office space, 18,000m2 of mixed-use business park and 1,300 residential units set in eight hectares of protected green areas with walking and running trails.
