Word of Art ‘urban artists' Mak1one and Rasty have created the Egos, malevolently clutching food implements. A video animation, directed and animated by Word of Art filmmakers Rowan Pybus and Marco van der Merwe, shows the Egos taking over Long Street in a visually dynamic campaign on the streets for four days from 24 September 2009 for the festival weekend.
ECHO Events and Traffic Integrated Marketing and an illustrated brochure/ego map created by the illustrators Bison tie the entire campaign together.
Long Street will be the official ‘Loeries Village' and will be rising up to take the challenge of showing its competitive colours. This includes coupons to entice locals and delegates to discover Long Street and its wonderfully creative offerings.
Local venues will be able to vie for a R10 000 cash prize by creating their own response to the Loeries' theme with window dressing, Loeries' menus, haircuts and more. Judges from Creative Cape Town and Loeries will choose the most creative participant.
