Calls for 2013 WISA nominations
PRETORIA: The Department of Science and Technology is inviting nominations for the 2013 South African Women in Science Awards (WISA). The awards will be presented on 16 August 2013 as part of the department's celebration of National Women's Month.
Categories of the awards are as follows:
1. Awards for distinguished women:
Life Sciences
Social Sciences and Humanities
Indigenous Knowledge Systems
2. Awards for distinguished young women:
Life Sciences
Social Sciences and Humanities
3. The role of science and research against violence towards women. Three awards will be made to:
Distinguished researcher
Emerging researcher
Post-doctoral researcher
4. Fellowships:
Masters students (X3)
Doctoral students (x3)
5. TATA Africa Scholarships for Women in Science, Engineering and Technology:
Masters students (X3)
Doctoral students (X3)
Nominations should reach the Department of Science and Technology by 17 May 2013. No late entries will be accepted.
