Operation Smile receives fuel sponsorship from Engen
Operation Smile aims to perform corrective surgery on children in the country born with cleft palates and other facial deformities. After two successful outings in previous years, the organisation will bring free surgical treatment and care to 205 Ghanaian children this year.
Supporting Operation Smile's Medical Mission
Henry Akwaboah, managing director of Engen Ghana, says the company's corporate social investment (CSI) programme supports initiatives that promote the health of its employees, customers and the communities in which it does business.
"The faces of more than 200 children will be changed forever thanks to the good work of Operation Smile, a cause that we are truly fortunate and proud to support. The cause really gives the children a chance to integrate confidently into society," he says.
During the 2013 Operation Smile Medical Mission, scheduled to run in Tamale between 11-21 July 2013, Engen Ghana will fuel all buses used to transport beneficiaries and dependants to and from Tamale Teaching Hospital in Ghana's northern region.
During the 2012 Operation Smile Medical Mission, Engen Ghana supported the initiative in much the same manner, fuelling buses transporting beneficiaries to and from Ridge Hospital in Accra, the national capital.
