Dunlop goes pink

Dunlop has adopted the Breast Health Foundation as its official charity and, in addition to ongoing support for the organization, will be going pink for the month of October. Every Dunlop tyre purchased out of Dunlop Zone stores between 1 and 27 October 2012, will help to raise funds.

Dunlop and Dunlop Zones countrywide are supporting the Dunlop drive to raise funds and awareness for the fight against breast cancer by committing funds from their own stores to the Breast Health Foundation (BHF), and pinking up their stores.

Dunlop, in conjunction with their Dunlop Zone partners, has committed to a minimum donation of R250 000 to the BHF and every Dunlop tyre purchased out of Dunlop Zone stores between 1 and 27 October 2012 will assist in funding this initiative.

The donation is based on forecasted sales of Dunlop branded tyres through the Dunlop Zone network over this period.

Breast cancer survivors

The Breast Health Foundation, where the majority of staff and volunteers are breast cancer survivors, strives to put an end to the silent suffering of patients, many of whom feel ashamed, helpless and alone.

The Bosom Buddies project, comprising mostly volunteers, was created as a project of the BHF to promote a positive mindset, recovery and quality of life for the patient, which includes creating awareness, providing access to information, support and counselling for those diagnosed with the disease and undergoing treatment.

In addition, the BHF has several mobile breast education units that travel into communities in order to educate women who would otherwise not have been made aware of these lifesaving facts.
