Statistics from social media monitoring company SocialBakers showed that 967,220 users have not logged on to the site in the past six months, reported The Star.

This was a decline of 17.7%.

The numbers also indicated that people aged between 18 and 24-years-old were the biggest group of Facebook users.

Meanwhile, another study conducted by World Wide Worx and Fusewire found that an increasing number of people aged 60 and older had taken a liking to the site.
