Students attend Ford Career Day
"With the Ford Career Day we aim to help young South Africans make their tertiary education application process that much easier by giving students valuable insights into the numerous opportunities available to them," said FMCSA president and CEO, Jeff Nemeth.
The students were presented with practical information on different career paths offered within the automotive industry, encompassing a diverse range of specialist fields, including marketing, finance, IT, human resources, legal and government affairs, purchasing, customer services, and product development.
Investment in future
Various tertiary institutions were also invited to attend and provided information on available study opportunities and entry requirements in their fields of interest. Ford's Driving Skills For Life instructors offered valuable advice to the young students as they prepare to take to the roads in the future.
"We at Ford are committed to investing in the future of young people in South Africa. The career day programme is evidence of FMCSA's aim to invest in the development of skilled talent in South Africa," added Nemeth. "Education is the cornerstone of our society. We are in critical need of young talented resources in the engineering and manufacturing sectors and we hope to see many of these young people join the Ford family in the future."
