69 companies certified as Best Employers

A total of 69 South African companies were certified as the Best Employers in South Africa this year according to CRF, an independent employer brand research and marketing organisation.

Microsoft SA was certified as the best employer in the country followed by Accenture SA, SAP South Africa and Unilever SA. The best large-sized employer with more than 4 000 employees was Unilever, followed by Vodacom, Netcare and Telkom.

According to Samantha Crous, country manager of CRF, the process of certifying the best employers is rigorous and is undertaken throughout the world. She says the Best Employers programme is an international Human Resources policy and practice benchmarking system developed by CRF globally.

She says it gives organisations a means to differentiate themselves from others and certification recognises employer intelligence and performance. Crous says that those companies that choose to be certified are independently scrutinised as employers.

She says that Best Employers is now a highly-respected mark of quality for organisations throughout the world and the campaign has been endorsed by the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, which found its methodology to be 100% reliable as a measure of human resource excellence.

All research findings are independently audited by Grant Thornton South Africa.
