Building loyalty - some better than others
Some companies are considerably better at building loyalty among workers and there are a lot of complex reasons for this according to Joyce Russell, the director of the Executive Coaching and Leadership Development Programme at the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business.
She cites aspects such as creating a shared purpose, showing appreciation to workers and making sure that the environment is congenial as being key to the development of loyalty. According to Russell it's imperative that a company should be transparent and should share information willingly and readily with its employees.
She points out that loyalty is hard to achieve and requires constant work as it must be nurtured at all times.
