KZN fails to spend R1,4-billion on infrastructure

The KwaZulu-Natal health department has failed to spend the R1,4-billion it had set aside for infrastructure development and this money has now been returned to the National Treasury according to an article published by City Press.

It quotes Chris Maxon, the health department's spokesman as saying the money was returned to the government as the project had not been started.

Meanwhile the National Education, Health and Allied Workers' Union (Nehawu) picketed outside the Inkosi Albert Luthuli Hospital over serious staff shortages including doctors, nurses and managers.
