Global mobile satellite communications services provider Inmarsat and data replication solutions provider iOra Ltd, have joined forces to offer the combined Inmarsat and iOra BGAN Geo-Replicator - which is tailored for operation remote locations such as Africa, Inmarsat says in a statement.
The Geo-Replicator enables organisations to efficiently deliver content, be it email or bandwidth-hungry files transferred through SharePoint.
The system enables oganisations around the world operating in the construction, oil, gas, offshore, mining, NGO, maritime and defence sectors that require resilient and reliable real-time broadband connectivity, as well as governments and commercial users to have synchronised access to information anywhere, at any time, at reduced data costs, Inmarsat's statement says.
Debuting in Africa, BGAN Geo-Replicator is available to Inmarsat distribution partners and end-customers via iOra's African reseller Complexus. Alastair Bovim, Managing Director, Inmarsat Africa says that clients will further benefit from their Inmarsat BGAN platform by combining it with the iOra's Geo-Replicator.
