Celebrity baker Buddy Valastro and star of the Cake Boss series is one of the most renowned cake artists in the US and the master baker of Carlo's Bake Shop in Hoboken, New Jersey. In season nine of Cake Boss, Valastro and his team are back in the mix, tackling more of the confectionary challenges that have made the series a global phenomenon.

Fourteen finalists will be selected in a random draw and will then compete in a cake bake-off at Capsicum's Johannesburg campus on Saturday, 21 October. The winner will receive a bursary to study a Patisserie Diploma from City and Guilds at one of Capsicum’s six campuses around South Africa. It is an internationally recognised course that provides all the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge for anyone looking to specialise in pastry and desserts.
