Radical overhaul for Rand Show 2010
The new managers of the Rand Show 2010 have pulled out all the stops to ensure that a trip to the show this Easter will be a rewarding experience for every member of the family.
More affordable
The Rand Show 2010 is now more affordable than ever. In previous years, only children under two enjoyed free admission. Now, the Rand Show 2010 gives free admission to all children aged six and under. The age limit to qualify for child rates has been pushed up from 12 to 16. It now only costs R20 a ticket for children between the ages of seven and 16. Adults over 16 pay just R70, and even less if they take advantage of the show's midweek special (Tuesday to Thursday), when tickets are only R40.
Myriad lifestyle exhibits
The price of a ticket gets you much more than just admission to the myriad lifestyle exhibits. It also lets you enjoy the line-up of entertainment and attractions, some of which are exclusive to the Rand Show 2010.
Some of the attractions include:
- The International Food & Culture Festival
- The Chefs Experience, with the SA Chefs' Association (pre-booking essential)
- Horse shows featuring the SA Lipizzaners and a Cowboy Spectacular
- The talent platform “I Want to be a Star”
- Giants Live: the World's Strongest Man South Africa Grand Prix
- The Boat Show on the Rand Show Lake
- The Suzuki 4xFun Xperience
- The Extreme Adventure Spectacular
- Ster-Kinekor's PlayStation Gaming World
- The Kidz' Zone, featuring the “Supercool” show
- The Domestos Flying Germ Show featuring Izak Davel and Bianca le Grange
- A circus in the main arena
- The World Bazaar
- The Rand Show Parade
- A football festival
- Gardening workshops with The Gardener magazine's Tanya Visser
- The biggest Easter Treasure Hunt ever.
Gates will open each day at 10am and close at 6pm, although the show will remain open until 8pm.
Tickets are available at the gates or through Computicket.
