uNIGHTing brings rave back to Joburg
uNIGHTing: Reunion of the Rave is an all-out tribute and revival to the genre that gave birth to what we now hail as EDM, bringing back the 90s for the first time in 15 years, and will occur at Town Hall, 66 Carr Street, Newtown Cultural Precinct on 13 July, 2013. A two-stage affair headlined by none other than Brooklyn Bounce, with support from Special D and local heroes such as Lady Lea, Mix Lab and host of favourites still to be confirmed.
DJ Dennis "Bonebreaker" Bohn (41) is the producer of Germany's favourite dance icons Brooklyn Bounce (Get Ready To Bounce, Loud And Proud, Bass, Beats & Melody, Crazy) Brooklyn Bounce sold over 3 million singles since 1996 and is one of the most important persons in the German dance business. Brooklyn Bounce´s great comeback in 2000 with Bass, Beats & Melody (Top 3) and their fourth long player "Restart" were a climax to a career that, of course, still goes on today.
Dennis Horstmann, also known as Special D, set out to conquer the international pop and dance market in 2003. The 21-year-old Hamburg lad climbed to number 13 in the German single charts with his very first song: Come With Me. The track went on to reach the Top 10 in The Netherlands and the UK (number six). Since that the fans can meet him at his many DJ gigs.
