Desmond & the Tutus recording new album with US producer Eric Broucek

Currently locked-down at the Open Room Recording Studios in Greenside, the Tutus and Broucek connected online, with Eric agreeing to come out to Joburg from his base in Los Angeles for two weeks to produce and engineer the recording.

Broucek is a producer, engineer and musician, and for five years he served as in-house engineer for the DFA production team of James Murphy and Tim Goldsworthy. There he worked on the albums of LCD Soundsystem and Hercules & Love Affair, among others. In 2008, he moved on to build his own recording studio in Brooklyn, where he produced and/or mixed the likes of Eleanor Friedberger, !!! (chk chk chk), Holy Ghost!, The Hundred in the Hands, Rubblebucket, and more. In 2011, after over a decade in NYC, he re-established himself, and the studio, Stickydisc Recordings, back in his home town of Los Angeles.
