New performers announced for Red Bull Beat Battle 2011
House legend Oskido, DJ Switch and Red Bull Music Academy alumnus Jullian Gomes round up the line-up of performers.
Working with Somizi Mhlongo, the crews have been going through the motions and perfecting their routines ahead of the big night.
The judges
Somizi, Kabelo "Bouga Luv" Mabalane, South Africa's first African professional ballet dancer Lorna Maseko, and Bboy Gerald Witbooi, aka Vouks, will be critiquing the crews on the night, taking into consideration overall performance, technical execution, originality and group uniformity.
"When that first beat hits and the crew is on stage you'll be able to tell whether they gel as a crew and whether or not they have the crowd on their side," commented Vouks.
On the night, all eight crews will have two opportunities to dance with the top four going into the semi-final. Then the final will have the top two crews going head to head.
YFM's Siyabonga Ngwekazi, aka Scoop, will be hosting the event. Tickets are R50 at Computicket www.computicket.co.za.
