Stellenbosch in Joburg line-up announced
Stellenbosch group, Manouche, celebrated for their foot-stomping, hip-swinging jazz vibes and fellow townsman, and blues man Gerald Clark will add rhythmic soul to an evening of grapes, gourmet food, music and fine art.
Manouche have their roots in American jazz and gypsy rhythm and play with unorthodox instrumentation and a good deal of originality. Along with their own tunes they also pay homage to artists and composers like George Gershwin, Django Reinhardt, Fats Waller and Édith Piaf.
From the banks of the Mississippi
Gerald Clark is as synonymous to Stellenbosch pride as the town's oak-lined streets. Clark, better known as the red-headed lead singer of Delta Blue, gets toes tapping with a live performance straight from the banks of the Mississippi.
In addition to the music entertainment guests can rub shoulders with 50 top Stellenbosch winemakers, savour more than 100 of the finest wines from the country's premium wine region and experience top Stellenbosch chefs in action, with their signature dishes. Art enthusiasts will also be able to view rare pieces from the Sanlam Art Collection.
Tickets are limited and cost R395 per head for wine tasting and gourmet indulgences throughout the evening. The doors open at 6.30pm.
