7th Son shares their Ontology

The album will include five bonus tracks, as well as a DVD documentary featuring a short "Making The Album" video and a few music videos to boot.
This novel approach to launching an album mirrors what 7th Son is all about as a band, as it presents a little bit of everything rolled into one, slick package.
"Rude Rock Shakedown" has the band returning to their ska/reggae roots, but the listener never settles into genre complacency. Regarding the musical diversity of their tracks, lead singer Nic Guad commented: "I have so many influences that I used to start on one genre, then change tack midway through the writing process and try to fit a song into the ska genre. Now I just write what comes and the hell with it."
From the heavily reggae influenced Oceans Of Time, through to the Ontology-inspired Backdoor, Guad and the boys have thrown down the gauntlet to an industry that relies on commercially pleasing tracks and radio-grabbing 40-second chorus lines.
The seven-track EP is available on 1 September, free for download from www.7thson.co.za
