Mother City Queer Project starship prepares to fly

MCQP's 20th party, to be hosted at The Cape Town Stadium, encompasses over 20 000m² of sci-fi- and cowboy-inspired decorated spaces, including dance floors and experiential areas.

Each year between 10 000 and 13 000 party-goers dress up in costume, make their appearance on the pink carpet and dance to a variety of music genres. Party-goers can look forward to psy-trance, house, electro, butterbox and the Smile90.4FM disco dance floors.

Nomfundo Calana from Smile90.4FM said that the team is "excited to partner up with Mother City Queer Project, one of Cape Town's iconic annual events and one of the world's most fabulous and over-the-top celebrations of freedom of speech and diversity. We live in one of the most beautiful cities in the world and MCQP is the one Cape Town event you don't want to miss. We're excited to have Reinard Ludick as one of the MCs at this year's party and we'll also be keeping party-goers happy on the Smile90.4FM Disco Dance floor."

It will be the first time in MCQP's history that the gates will be opened at 5.30pm. The fête-like start to the day includes lots of food stalls, managed by Old Biscuit Mill, and a live music stage.
