Khune named Amakhosi Player of the Year
A delighted Khune said the Player of the Year accolade was the cherry on top after his team clinched the PSL: "This has turned out to be a good year so far, both for Kaizer Chiefs and me personally. I am grateful to have been honoured as Player of the Year by my team mates. I am equally honoured to have the opportunity to drive one of Nissan's most popular cars."
Khune also walked away with the new Nissan Juke - a crossover SUV in Nissan's Innovation that Excites range, and a nominee in this year's Car of the Year competition, sponsored by Wesbank and the South African Guild of Motoring Journalists.
Isaac Lekubu, Nissan South Africa's government sales manager, said the company has been a proud sponsor of Kaizer Chiefs since 2001.
"We have stood by Amakhosi through thick and thin and have been rewarded with a third PSL win during our sponsorship," said Lekubu. "As the sport of the nation, Nissan is proud to be associated with this local stalwart."
Demonstrating its commitment to soccer, Nissan is also one of the official sponsors of the Orange Africa Cup of Nations, held this year in South and in Morocco in 2015.
Khune joins other illustrious Kaizer Chiefs Player of the Year winners and recipients of Nissan vehicles including mid-fielder Siphiwe Tshabalala (2009 and 2012), goalkeeper Arthur Bartman (2010) and right back defender Jimmy Tau (2011).
