Vodacom and ZTE present mobile phones to paralympics team

Vodacom and telecommunications equipment manufacturer company, ZTE has partnered to produce a mobile technology package handset that will connect the paralympics team during the Olympic Games taking place in London from 29 August to 9 September.

Members of the squad were presented with the latest E821 feature phone from ZTE as well as a Vodafone SIM card voucher. The technology package consists of a cell-phone handset and a Vodacom SIM worth £40 of credit to help keep team South Africa connected no matter where they are.

The sleek and lightweight ZTE E821 contains a number of features such as a camera, FM radio with an 8gig memory card, MP3, MPEG4 to easily access, play and share multimedia files. This phone also gives access to social media platforms like Facebook and twitter.

Public can interact with team

On team SA's arrival in London, Vodafone SIM cards will be delivered to the paralympic village. The SIM cards have been preloaded with £40 of airtime to be utilised for voice, text or data to ensure they can stay in touch. Through dedicated social media handles, the paralympic team and the public will now be able to interact throughout the games around scheduled events of the day involving SA athletes, results of events and reactions from the paralympians on their performances.
