Future Leaders hosts inaugural Youth Awards

Future Leaders SA hosts its ninth Youth Entrepreurship,Lifeskills, Moral Regeneration Conference & Careers Expo, late last month, along with its inaugural Youth Awards. The theme of the awards was Redefining Role Models.

16 categories were open to the 16-35 age category. Four categories were open to all ages - Role Model of the Year, Future Leaders President's Award, Corporate / Government Institution Award and Most Inspirational Role Model and Sports Personality of the Year.

The entertainment lineup featured Thembi Seete from SABC's Jika-Majika, DJ Sgqemeza from Ukhozi FM and Future Leaders ambassador Nhlanhla Xwesa, a Vibe FM DJ.

Future Leaders is a youth development organisation with creative development programmes that aim to mould and groom young people into responsible future leaders.

"We ideally seek to be a hub for youth skills, leadership, entrepreneurship, career guidance and most importantly moral regeneration initiatives," says Victor Sibeko, Future Leaders Board chairperson. "At the centre of our programmes is an on-going research to remain relevant in our approach and application of youth strategies."
