M-Net maintains maximum BEE level score
M-Net's Human Resources Director, Fhulufhelo Badugela commented on the company's recent success, "The accomplishment is due to a concerted effort by the M-Net leadership over the past four years. M-Net has seen substantial scorecard improvement, having scored a Level Three in the 2012/13 period".
M-Net's South Africa CEO, Yolisa Phahle stated, "The fact that we have improved on our overall BBBEE standing, from a Level Three, four periods back, to our current Level One, for two years running, clearly indicates M-Net's unrelenting commitment to black economic empowerment and skills development. We will strive to continue leading by example."
Alongside M-Net's BBBEE strategy, the company has also rebranded and refocused its corporate social investment (CSI) structure, with social investment programmes now aligned to the key priority areas of government's National Development Plan (NDP), specifically targeting skills development and youth unemployment. M-Net's new flagship CSI programme, M-Net Magic in Motion focuses on the core strategic objectives of the business and the industry within which they operate. This ensures that the company's programme support both the beneficiaries as well as the business at large. M-Net's grooming of future industry leaders does not only empower the youth but also helps build a robust and dynamic television industry.
