NUM takes Nkomati nickel mine to the CCMA

According to Business Live, the National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) has this week declared a dispute with Nkomati mine, a joint venture between JSE-listed diversified resources miner African Rainbow Minerals and Norilsk Nickel Africa.

The dispute has formally been referred to the Commission for Conciliation, Mediation and Arbitration (CCMA).

Business Live reports that NUM regional secretary William Mabapa said the union objected to Nkomati's refusal to bargain on grounds that it was awaiting the approval of a budget.
