Company news: MSD (Pty) Ltd supports nurse vaccine education in rural communities

More than 2000 nurses and other health personnel benefited from the MSD- International Council of Nurses library training activities between 2006 and 2007.

On the 25 January 2008, MSD handed over a cash donation worth R357 000 to the Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa (DENOSA) and the South African Vaccines and Immunisation Centre (SAVIC) to support vaccine education for nurses in the Limpopo Province.

In the enclosed photo DENOSA Secretary General Thembeka Gwagwa ( L) and her Deputy Madithapo Masemola (R) , receive the donation from MSD CR Manager Sam Nkalashe and MSD CEO Steffen Brygger (centre).

In the same ceremony Professor Jeffrey Mphahlele Head of SAVIC and his staff received another donation to manage the project, from MSD CEO Steffen Brygger, Business Unit Manager Ms Kim Holiday and Rotavirus Product Manager Cecil Labuschagne.
