I flew down to Johannesburg last week to attend the South African Council of Shopping Centres (SACSC) Research Conference, an annual event which highlights and dissects trends impacting the retail industry. I've brought you coverage on two of my favourite talks for the day.
The first was presented by Instant Grass International's Kate Snyder, who provided research-based insight into the
South African millennial's mindset and how it's shaping the future of shopping malls.
The second came in the form of Cushman & Wakefield's Yvonne Court, who unpacked the global
food and beverage (F&B) retail trends. A major drawcard for shopping centres, the right F&B mix is vital customer retention and acquisition.
Before the conference kicked off, I also managed to chat to
SACSC CEO Amanda Stops, who explained the relevance of the event for the broader retail industry.
In other news, nominations are set to open for both the
Cartier Women's Initiative Awards and the
PriceCheck Tech and E-Commerce Awards. So get nominating...
Enjoy!
