HR Advisor - Recruitment and Onboarding

Remuneration:R30000 - R35000 per month basic salary

Talent acquisition
  • Utilise various platforms such as ATS, Indeed, and LinkedIn to fill vacancies.
  • Develop a recruitment plan and calendar based on open headcount.
  • Ensure KPIs, job adverts, pre-screening, interview guides, and onboarding plans are up to date.
  • Pre-screen applicants and select the most qualified candidates for interviews.
  • Manage the recruitment process from sourcing to extending offers and drafting employment contracts.
  • Maintain relationships with employment agencies and job portals.
  • Participate in job fairs and career days to build a talent pool.
  • Develop long-term talent acquisition strategies and coordinate recruitment programs.
  • Coordinate interviews and training sessions, negotiate contract terms, and monitor recruitment metrics.
  • Encourage employer branding and employee referral programs.
Onboarding
  • Prepare onboarding kits and welcome new employees upon their arrival.
  • Introduce new hires to team members and facilitate office tours.
  • Process paperwork and coordinate company presentations and product demos.
  • Provide training on HR systems and technical setup assistance.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional departments to ensure a seamless first-day experience.
  • Track employee performance and engagement, distribute manuals and guidelines, and drive 30, 60, 90-day orientations.
  • Develop an induction program for new hires in collaboration with managers.
Compliance
  • Track and monitor equity and WSP/ATR stats and facilitate committee meetings.
  • Ensure compliance with training plans and store training stats on a monthly basis.
Job design
  • Maintain up-to-date job descriptions, interview guides, and onboarding planners.
  • Design and maintain job creation and evaluation methodologies.
  • Audit job descriptions and organizational structure, recommend changes, and participate in HR projects.
Reporting
  • Generate monthly reports on recruitment, vacancies, headcount, employment equity, and other HR metrics.
  • Develop HR reporting requirements and oversee data input in HR systems.
  • Execute daily HR transactions, ensure data integrity across systems, and develop internal KPIs for HR generalists.
Personal qualities
  • Excellent analytical, presentation, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Computer literacy and hands-on experience with HRIS.
  • Understanding of labor legislation and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Team spirit and accountability for business outcomes.
Preferred experience requirements
  • 3-5 years of related experience with strong recruitment and onboarding experience.
  • Good understanding of South African legislation and recruitment practices in Africa.
  • Matric/grade 12 with studies in Human Resources (preferably Btech).
Required skills
  • Previous HR generalist experience and understanding of employee lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Attention to detail and knowledge of recruitment tools and portals.
  • Ability to advise on HR best practices and compliance with regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and initiative in resolving staffing issues.
  • Familiarity with different selection methods and ability to make logical decisions.
