Seasoned winemaker Elunda Basson joins Steenberg Vineyards

Steenberg Vineyards has appointed Elunda Basson as its new cellar master; she replaces JD Pretorius. Commencing her role in June 2019, Basson will manage all of the winemaking operations at Steenberg.

Her winemaking career spans 20 years during which she produced still and sparkling wines at several wine producers including Nederburg, Pongrácz and JC Le Roux. After studying viticulture and oenology at the University of Stellenbosch and completing her diploma in cellar technology at Elsenburg Agricultural College, she spent a harvest at Dry Creek Vineyards in Sonoma County in California.
